You make your case more obvious by pointing to your construction and elaborating, \u201cUm, Mom, I\u2019m building something right now, and I\u2019m old enough to stay here by myself.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNot yet, sweetie,\u201d she says softly.<\/p>\n
You\u2019re left with no option. While she\u2019s pulling out your shoes, you make a call and then turn to your mom and say, \u201cIt\u2019s OK, I called the babysitter\u2026 she\u2019ll be here soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
Your mom mumbles something about you testing her patience and having a strong will. You didn\u2019t want to test anything, you just wanted to build your fort!<\/p>\n
If you have a strong will, it\u2019s true you might test the patience of those who care for you. You might want to do things for yourself instead of having grown-ups showing you how to do them. In order to make your point, you sometimes say or do things that may hurt the feelings of those you love. You\u2019re not trying to make anyone feel bad, you\u2019re just trying to do your thing!<\/p>\n

Many kids give in to peer pressure because they don\u2019t know what they truly want. You, on the other hand, know exactly what you want and go after it regardless of what other people think. You are not easily swayed by the opinions of others.<\/p>\n

Entrepreneurs don\u2019t succeed by simply following the rules, they tend to push boundaries and look for creative solutions to a problem.<\/p>\n Some kids will stop spinning in circles when their mom tells them they will get dizzy and fall down. This means you\u00a0don\u2019t have to be poked and prodded to work on something that interests you. If you are\u00a0into math, chances are your parents and teachers will never have to fight you\u00a0to do math homework. You\u00a0will likely delve into deep research about the subjects you love.<\/p>\n A recent\u00a0study<\/a>\u00a0shows that rule breaking and defiance, characteristics often seen in\u00a0strong-willed\u00a0children, actually\u00a0gives them an edge to\u00a0succeed financially as adults.
